hi i have an old pw50 that i have done alot of work on. It is running on premix and has a new cdi, coil, carb and air box and new piston and plug. The bike is working well once its running but to get it started for the first time after it hasnt been run i have to stand it on its rear wheel and give it a shake, kick it over a few times like this and its off. Once its running no matter how warm it get it wont tick over and needs to be reved constantly to stop it cutting out. I have adjusted the mixture and tick over screw and also tried adjusting the throttle cable. The tick over screw dosent seem to be making much difference, the starting problem seems to be due to fuel starvation untill i shake some through!!
any help please

Could it be the premix oil settling in the fuel tank?
Make sure you give the bike a good shake before starting if you are not using it regularly. Also, try stripping the carb and blowing through the jets to make sure the fuel is getting through properly.
Another thing to check is that you may have water inside your exhaust if you do not plug it when washing. You have to stand the bike up on the back wheel to empty any water and it sounds like you are doing this already, so maybe something to consider?
