We have an oil pump which is leaking oil through the feed pipe into the carb body. After a few days the oil can be seen leaking thru the joints in the air filter box.
We have no history with the bike except that it clearly hasnt been used very much and has always been difficult to start (although I would suspect that oil flooding the galleries in the carb wont help).
It could be that the pump needs adjusting? Cleaning? or perhaps replacing. Ive read that some people remove the pump and prefer premix? Whats the advantage - do you need to re jet?
Sorry if this is a bit basic for the forum but Im a newbie to two strokes!

My advice: Drain and remove the oil tank and line. Plug the hole on the pump. Cut and plug the line between the pump and the carb. Remove and clean the carb. Replace spark plug. Put 2-3% of 2-stroke oil in the gas tank. Then you know that it gets the right amount. If pump is broken, you will probably not know it until it seizes up... Sure, you can probably buy a new pump, but it wont be cheap...
