Hello all,
Ive got a 02 pw50 and Im doing a top end rebuild. Anyone know the yamaha spec for piston to wall clearance? im using a yamaha piston .010 over. Thanks in advance.

Standard piston clearance is 0.034 - 0.047 mm (0.0013 - 0.0018 in) and ring end gap should be 0.15 - 0.35 mm (0.006 - 0.014 in) in case you were curious about that.

Thanks for the replies! I had to go .010 over because it scuffed the piston on the exhaust side. Dont suppose if anyone knows if the cylinder is platted? I dont believe so but I fiqured Id ask.

pretty sure the pw cylinders are not plated. I'm doing the same rebuild with a 41.5mm piston and trying to find the correct clearance to cylinder wall
