Got my girlfriend a PW80 a few weeks back for $125. Thought I'd post up what I've done so far to maybe help some noobs to the PW80 world.
First thing I did was relocate the rear shock mount one inch further away than the stock location (towards the front of the bike). This give about 2.5" to 3" of lift in the rear. When i sat on it I felt like i was falling forward a bit so i decided to remove the triple tree and cut the top bracket in two places in order to drop the mounting of the front shocks. I then made 1.5"x1.5", 1/4" thick gussets to weld in place. This made the bike feel much better to sit on. Next was re-painting the bike, so i had to tear it down to the frame. After everything was dry and put back together I started working on the foot pegs. The guy i got it off of threw some random foot pegs from another bike on and they didn't even line up correctly. The left one was kicked back 2" and angled to the back while the right was angled forward and up about half an inch. A little cut and paste was necessary.
The bike came without a piston so i ordered a pro x 0.020" overbore piston and at the moment the jug is at my friends machine shop. I will write up how to rebuild it when i get it back from him.
Keep tuned! Pics up soon!
