We just purchased our grandson his first bike. It is a 1999 PW50. It appears to exhaust an excess amount of oil. Is there an adjustment for the oil injector or is this normal for this bike?

Yes, the adjutment is on the oil injection pump. You will need a dial indicator, time, ability, patience and the owner's manual.
It is smoking is because of the oil injection. Make sure you are using the correct oil. One of the best mods one can do is to eliminate the oil injection and premix with a good quality syntheic 2 stroke oil. I run a 65 mainjet with Motul 800 at 50:1. This mod is not AMA leagal but does not apply to where we race. The air filters plug/get wet easily because of their location but are easy to access. Buy some spare filters and clean them all at once.
