Hey guys,
Glad I found the forum. Yesterday I picked up two PW50s. One I was told managed to run for a little bit, the other (yellow) hasn't ran in unknown amount of time. I'm a street bike guy, and not familiar with carbs/dirt bikes. That said I'm pretty mechanically inclined.
Is there a checklist of sorts, to go from the top down to get these bikes running? I noticed there are plenty of parts online, but would rather diagnose everything before I start ordering.
Need the basics, what oil/fuel mixture, etc.
Things I've noticed:
Red bike (One that ran) -Missing silencer -Missing Airbox -Spark Plug boot gone
Yellow Bike - Run switch broken

First check the spark. If there is a spark, then the problem is in the fuel line (or in compression). If no, first check the run switch. Use a multimeter. If that's ok, change the spark plug. Then check ignition coil, cdi box and finally the stator. If your problem is in fuel line, first check that gasoline runs from tank to the carburator. After that brake carburator in peaces and clean everything. Use compressed air to clean the jets. Put the needle in the middle and open air ja idle screw 1,5 - 2 turns. After those steps you should get them running, or atleast you'll know where the problem is. __ yamahapw80.wordpress.com/
