Gear for First-Timers

Curious to know what you recommend for gear. Not really knowing what to buy I purchased Helmet, Goggles, Jersey, Pants, Boots, Elbow Pads & Knee Pads for my 3 and half year old son. He will get his gear on Christmas with his PW50. I purchased everything slightly larger thinking it will give him room to grow. My thought was that in the beginning my biggest concern is the bike falling over on him since he won't be getting any real speed. Any thoughts/advice? Did I miss anything?
