Just replaced carb cause i couldnt get the choke cable plunger out of the top of the carb to clean it. Sprayed wd40/pb blaster in it, couldnt get it to come out, so i took top of carb off, pulled out throttle cable/needle and cut the choke cable. Finally got the plunger out with flathead screwdriver. Put new carb on with new choke cable and throttle cable which goes to oil pump and in top of carb. When i fire the bike up in start pos. and switch it to run pos it wants to take off. I have the throttle cable adjusted all the way in, seems like its not long enough, plenty of room to adjust out and rev up, just cant idle it down?? same with choke cable-too short?? Any help/suggestions would be great! I do have the limiting rev screw out!

Uuse the tubes from the top of the old carb. The new ones are approximately 1/4" longer which does not allow for the throttle cartridge to sit all the way down inside the carb on the jet. It is in a position where as far as the carb is concerned you are holding throttle wide open
I had the same problem just yesterday and this was the fix, runs perfect now.
USE THE TOP OF THE OLD CARB!

I am having the same problem... I bought a new carb and the tubes seem to be longer on the new carb. I was thinking of using my old top off the carb with the shorter tubes. After reading above I am going to try to use the old top with shorter tubes and see if that will work.
